How it’s matched
Government records, and only where they agree
Each entry is one car in one year: make, model, variant, body, engine, gearbox and drive. We match it to the government vehicle approval records on the facts that define the car, such as engine capacity, gearbox and body, not just the name, because names are where catalogues go wrong.
34,293 entries match their approved variant. Another 5,163 narrow to a few candidates, and for those we only state what every candidate agrees on. Anything that can’t be matched carries no government spec rather than a borrowed one.
