What does this check?
Whether the VIN has been through a Pickles salvage sale since 27 August 2026, or a Manheim damaged-vehicle sale since 8 September 2026. If it has, you see the car, its write-off status, the damage recorded and when it was sold.
Is it the same as a PPSR or written-off register search?
No. It's our own record of the salvage sales we monitor. The PPSR is the official register for finance owing, and the written-off vehicle register is kept by the states. A car can be written off without going through the sales we monitor, so a miss isn't a clearance.
Why do you want my email?
We email you the result so you have it on file, and we may get in touch about MotorMetrics. We don't sell it or pass it on.
Where do I find the VIN?
On the compliance or build plate (usually in the door jamb or engine bay), at the base of the windscreen, and on the registration papers. It's 17 letters and numbers.
